How to Forward or Transfer Voicemails

There are two primary ways to move a voicemail to a colleague depending on whether you want the message to physically move to their inbox or just send them a copy via email.

Method 1: Transfer Directly to Another Extension

Use this method if you want to move the message out of your own mailbox and into a coworker’s voicemail box.

  1. Listen to the voicemail in your Intermedia Desktop or Laptop app.
  2. Dial 6 while the message is playing.
  3. Enter the Extension of the staff member when prompted.
    • Result: The voicemail is deleted from your box and appears as a new message in theirs.

Method 2: Forward via Email

Use this method if you want to keep a copy for yourself or provide a "paper trail" showing the message was originally sent to you.

  1. Enable Email Notifications: Ensure your settings are configured to "Notify me" and "Attach voicemail" in your Voicemail settings.
  2. Forward the Email: When the voicemail arrives in your email inbox, simply forward that email to the desired recipient.
    • Note: The voicemail will remain in your Intermedia mailbox, and the recipient will receive it as an email attachment rather than a phone message.

Using the Mobile App

If you are working from your phone, follow these steps to share a recording:

  1. Open the Voicemail menu in the app.
  2. Tap the specific voicemail you wish to send.
  3. Tap the three dots (...) and select Share
  4. Enter the recipient's email address and tap Send
