Blocking incoming Spam Calls

Blocking via the Desktop App

For most people working at their desks, the desktop app is the fastest way to silence a spammer.

  1. Open the Unite Desktop App.
  2. Click on the Call History icon (the clock symbol) on the left-hand sidebar.
  3. Locate the spam number in the list.
  4. Right-click the number or click the three dots (...) next to it.
  5. Select Block Number.
  6. A confirmation box will appear; click Block to finalize it.

Blocking via the Mobile App

If a user is on the go, they can block numbers directly from their smartphone.

  1. Open the Unite Mobile App.
  2. Tap on the History tab at the bottom.
  3. Find the offending number and tap the "i" (info) icon next to it.
  4. Scroll down to the bottom of the contact details and tap Block Number.
  5. Confirm the choice when prompted.

Managing the Block List (The "Un-block")

Sometimes a user accidentally blocks a legitimate contact. They can manage their list easily:

  • In the Desktop App: Go to Settings (the gear icon) > Calling > Blocked Numbers. From here, they can see the full list and click the X or Unblock to restore a number.
  • In the Web Portal: If they prefer the web, they can log into their User Portal, navigate to Phones & Devices, and manage Privacy or Blocked Numbers there.

Note: Blocking a number only stops that specific caller from reaching that specific user's extension. If a spammer is hitting every line in the building, it might be worth escalating it to an administrator to block the number at the account level.
