How do I "Flip" a call between my desk phone and mobile app?

What is Call Flip?

Call Flip allows you to seamlessly transfer a live call from one of your devices to another (e.g., from your desk phone to your cell phone) without the caller ever knowing. There is no clicking, no holding, and no need to redial.

Scenario A: Moving from Desk Phone to Mobile App

Use this when you are finishing a call at your desk but need to leave your office while staying on the line.

  1. While on an active call on your Desk Phone, open the Intermedia Unite App on your mobile device.
  2. A green bar will appear at the top of the mobile app that says "Active call on another device."
  3. Tap that green bar or the Flip icon.
  4. The call will instantly move to your mobile phone. You can now hang up the desk phone and continue walking.

Scenario B: Moving from Mobile App to Desk Phone

Use this when you arrive at your desk while talking on your mobile app and want to switch to your handset.

  1. While on an active call on your Mobile App, sit down at your desk.
  2. On your Desk Phone, look for the Flip soft key on the screen (you may need to press the "More" or ... button to see it).
  3. Press Flip.
  4. The call will instantly transfer to your desk phone. You can then lock your mobile screen and put it away.

Scenario C: Using the "Flip" Command (The Dial Method)

If you don't see the Flip button on your desk phone, you can use the universal command:

  1. While on a live call, dial *88 on the device you want to "pull" the call to.
  2. The call will immediately jump to that device.

Quick Troubleshooting Tips

  • App Status: For the "Green Bar" to appear, the Unite app must be open and logged in on your mobile device.
  • Signal Strength: If you are flipping to your mobile phone as you walk to your car, ensure you have a steady cellular signal so the call doesn't drop during the handoff from the office Wi-Fi.
